Leadville Marshall Martin Duggan, was honored in 2010 as one of the toughest lawmen of his time.

 

He was murdered on April 9, 1888 and in honor of his service to Leadville, the weekend of his murder includes a trial at Leadville’s BRASS ASS SALOON in living biographic style.  Held annually.

John Henry “Doc” Holliday

Dying from tuberculosis and avoiding a certain death if extradited back to Arizona, Holliday tried to lead a quiet life in Leadville dealing faro at Mannie Hyman’s saloon.  

 

But his Arizona past caught up to him and he was finally forced into the last shooting of his life... Billy Allen was shot by Holliday in the arm and Holliday was charged in the matter.
